Traveling through the Norwegian Fords

Hello friends. I want to start this by saying I'm not a writer in any shape or form so please don't judge my poor grammar, punctuation or spelling! Please forgive me if I use too many commas or not enough or if my sentences are so poorly structured that you just want to look at the pictures. But bear with me and I hope you will read something useful.

So this is what you can expect from my blog:

  • Get to know me a little better
  • More about my work
  • Exciting news and projects
  • Reviews and lists of recommended stuff
  • What and who inspires me
  • Things I have learnt along the way
  • My adventures through the world
  • Inspirational things that will brighten your day

As you may have noticed from my online posts and updates, I don't talk much about myself. For me, it has always been about my artwork and sharing it with those that can connect with it.

But I realised recently when I'm admiring an artist's work, I want to know more about the person. So here I am writing this blog, looking forward to rambling on about what goes on in my chaotic mind.

If there is anything in particular you would like to see from my blog please comment below. I hope you will enjoy the journey with me.

I would like to share a quote I heard recently whilst watching an interview with India Arie, a soul singer who is as real and honest as they get. This pretty much sums up how I think we should all feel:

“Your real job in this world is to be you.”
— India Arie

A little About Me โ€”

Hello. My name is Pavneet Sembhi and I am an illustrator obsessed with creating super detailed drawings.

This is a blog about everything in between the drawings, from the progress of each piece to the music I listen to whist creating them.

Hopefully I can share some useful advice to aspiring artists and some snapshots of what goes on behind the illustrations.

Honestly had such fun creating this one ๐Ÿฏ Inspired by the temples, ruins, bridges and buildings in Vietnam. As I started creating the brick staircases the image of the moving stairs in Hogwarts kept coming up in my mind!! Do you see it?! I often find as I start working on a piece new inspiration comes to me, itโ€™s really rather cool how your brain works ๐ŸŒš #Vietnam #temple #ruins #sonsanctuary #travels #hogwarts #bricks #inspired #backtobasics #night #stars

Merry Christmas๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿฝ๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿฝ Hoping you have a warming wonderful day wherever you are in the world! Did you know the Christmas Robin represents the red-breasted uniforms of the Victorian postmen delivering cards at Christmas ๐Ÿ’Œ๐Ÿ“ฎHope this little robin delivers some festive cheer to you :) Iโ€™m very grateful to be spending this Christmas in Vietnam with my parents, brothers and husband, itโ€™s a privilege to be immersed in a beautiful culture surrounded by friendly people ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ I was inspired by two great artists/friends/soul sisters @dilranikaur and @bhaljinder who have both blended photography and illustration to bring their work into the real world ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ’›๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒป #merrychristmas #robin #photography #christmasrobin
Deep inside your mind... ๐ŸŒš I feel like this sums up what's going on in there, it's messy and tangled and confusing but it's beautiful if you give it a chance ๐ŸŒนWill be posting all the progress pics in my instastory so you can see how this one came to life. Really threw myself into enjoying the process and not focusing too much on the end result ๐ŸŒ
Day 31 of Inktober: Happy Halloween ๐ŸŽƒ I was so close to doing the Nun from the Conjuring when I realised that the past 3 times I have done Inktober I have always done a skull... so it was only right I did a skull this year too ๐Ÿ’€ It was interesting to see the progress too, swipe across to see the one I did from 2014โ˜ ๏ธ Thank you to everyone for all the support, comments, likes, responses to questions, views, everything! I am so pleased I participated this year and grateful to have found some incredible artists along the way. I am off to go trick or treating with my niece and nephew now ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿญ #inktober #inktober2018 #wedidit #halloween #skull #snake #phew #trickortreat

Day 29 of Inktober: Carrie ๐Ÿ‘ธ๐Ÿผ this was one of the first horror movies I ever watched and since then I have been addicted ๐Ÿค“ Anyone who watches them with me knows I basically don't watch most of the film but I LOVE the feeling, the suspense, the humour, everything. I know it's not my usual style of drawing but I hope you don't mind, I wanted to try creating a blood effect! Carrie seemed like the most fitting word given that blood is so prominent in THAT iconic scene from the film (won't give too much away in case people haven't seen it!) I still haven't seen the remake but definitely need to see it soon!! #inktober #inktober2018 #carrie #blood #prom #horror #halloween #iconic
Day 28 of Inktober: The Mind Flayer drawing from Stranger Things ๐Ÿšฒ Based on the drawing Will does of the Mind Flayer from the Upside Down. I'm a big fan of Stranger Things so thanks to @devanpanesar for suggesting something from the programme for the Halloween series ๐Ÿ•ท I really enjoyed creating this scribbling effect, different from my usual precise linework! #inktober #inktober2018 #strangerthings #theupsidedown #mindflayer #halloween #willbyres #eleven #shadowmonster #demogorgan @inktober @strangerthingstv
